Dear Friend,
As a practicing neurologist and imam I have the privilege of guiding and supporting people through many of life’s challenges. As a partner in the Clinton Foundation’s Opioid Response Network, I’m able to provide help and information on issues of addiction and mental health.
Here’s what I know: addiction is a disease. It’s a chronic, treatable medical condition.
The opioid crisis is a complex challenge that claims tens of thousands of lives in the United States each year. It does not discriminate by color, religion, language, ethnicity, or faith.
For National Recovery Month, I’m calling for each of us to help end the stigma of addiction by showing more compassion and working together to provide hope for those struggling and to support people in recovery.
Read more about my story and join us in creating a community of hope. [link removed]
