Friend,

Thanks to your hard work and dedication, I'm humbled to be Richmond's Mayor for the next four years. We wouldn't be here without your tireless dedication and support. So thank you.

As we celebrate this victory, the nation is still waiting for the official results of the presidential election. A vote denied is justice denied, so we must be patient as every single vote is counted. I'm certain that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will have the electoral votes needed to secure the presidency, and, like many of you, I'm ready to move forward with this new administration.

I know the road hasn't been easy, but if we work together, there's nothing we can't accomplish. Our work to make Richmond the best place it can be, a city that works for everyone — no matter your zip code or skin color — has only just gotten started.

I'm not done fighting for a city built on equality and justice and building up our public schools so every child has an equal opportunity for success. We still have to face this health crisis, but we're facing it together. And I'm determined to make sure our small businesses and working families are supported, so our city is stronger when we make it to the other side.

Thank you to the volunteers who spent countless hours making phone calls and adjusting to the new challenge of campaigning online. Thank you to those of you who pitched in whatever you could afford and those who spread the word to their friends and family about our campaign.

Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we'll get back to work to make Richmond the best city it can be.

Together,

Levar
