Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has made his disregard for American lives abundantly clear.

 

According to CNBC, Trump’s enabler-in-chief told working families not to expect a second coronavirus relief bill until 2021 -- even as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is urging that “we don’t want to have to wait that long, because people have needs.” 

 

Speaker Pelosi has set Democratic priorities straight: “First and foremost, the American people need help. They need real help. And, second of all, we have plenty of work to do in the Joe Biden administration.” But the truth is that progress remains unlikely if McConnell has any say in it.

 

Through this election cycle, McConnell brazenly laughed at Congress’s relief failures, prioritized securing far-right control in the Supreme Court with Amy Coney Barrett, and repeatedly trumpeted his assaults on democratic precedent for SCOTUS nominations to rally Trump’s base. What’s worse? McConnell still has the time to wreak havoc on our country and will continue to do so in the Senate.
