Hi John,

I am so proud of the work we have done together. Yesterday, we made serious progress towards electing Democrats at every single level of government here in Maine. We delivered the state for Joe Biden. We re-elected Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden, helping to protect the Democratic majority in the House. We held our majorities in the State House and State Senate, and won many important municipal elections.

Something I am reminding myself of today is that progress takes time. Over the last two years, we built the largest grassroots operation we've ever had. Thousands of volunteers made phone calls, knocked doors, and talked to their friends and families about what a better future for our state could look like. And while we came up short in the Senate race, we're going to build on this incredible grassroots movement to make progress in Maine for years to come.

And here’s the thing: our work continues. Here at the Maine Democratic Party, we work year in and out, cycle after cycle, to make sure that the next year, we will be in an even better position to elect Democrats up and down the ticket. And all the hard work our staff, volunteers, and supporters put into the election this year will continue to bear fruit next year, and the year after.

Today, it’s time to get some rest and reflect on the work we’ve done over the last two years. Tomorrow, the work begins anew. I couldn’t ask for better allies in the fights yet to come.
