As votes continue to be counted, there is a lot we already know.
First, we are prepared and on track. Votes are still being counted and we’re moving toward a clear outcome of the Presidential election. You can watch the total vote margin increase here. And know that we are working closely with Democracy Docket to track any recount needs.
We’ll post new election-related projects as they come in. If recounts or other post-election legal needs arise, we’ll let you know right away.
Second, your work mattered. Thanks to you, voters turned out in record numbers despite the pandemic and countless efforts to make the process harder.
Together, we sent a message that efforts to suppress the vote would not be tolerated. But we did far more than that: you monitored polling locations, helped cure ballots, and answered hotline calls. And over the last year, more than 27,000 of you volunteered for more than 155,000 hours to expand and protect the right to vote. Thank you.
We’ll also continue sharing legal volunteer needs by email and on our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram so if you aren’t already following us, we encourage you to do so.
We’ll know the will of the voters soon, and should any legal needs arise, I am confident that we -- and all of you -- are ready.
Thank you again for all your work to this point. Let’s finish this together.
Sincerely,
Sarah Baker
