Donald Trump has been the worst president in history. He has pilfered our public lands and taken an axe to the agencies and policies created to protect natural resources, clean water and air. His racist policies have endangered lives, ripped apart families, and threatened the health of vulnerable communities. He utterly failed to respond to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. His disregard for climate science has put all of our futures in peril.
And with the outcome of the election uncertain, we need to make sure that he doesn't get another four years to continue it all.
The ballots are still being counted in Michigan and Pennsylvania—and it could be days until we know who our next president will be.

Let me be clear: No matter what the outcome is, we will not give up. In fact, we will need to come together like never before. We have to fight hard, protect our communities, and use every tool and resource at our disposal. But because we don't know whether we will need to stop Trump's second-term agenda or keep a Biden administration focused on the most important issues, we need to start working today.
We know we can win. Even under four years of Donald Trump, we secured important victories: 67 coal plants retired. 165 towns and cities committed to 100% clean energy. An 88% win record in legal challenges we have fought against the Trump administration. And that’s all thanks to the 3.8 million champions in our Sierra Club community fighting for change
No matter who is declared the winner, there are multiple crises demanding our attention.
The climate is in peril. We've just come through a devastating hurricane season on the East Coast paired with an unforgiving fire season that burned millions acres in the West. The country continues to grapple with systemic racism, including blatant and enduring environmental injustice.
And, of course, hanging over it all is a global pandemic that, under Trump's incompetence, will tragically rage on, disproportionately affecting communities of color.
Whether Trump or Biden wins, the country needs our Sierra Club community—our brilliant legal teams, our tireless grassroots organizers, our anti-racist principles—more than ever.
