Things are looking very, very good.

Just as expected, as more and more mail in ballots have been counted over the past 12 hours, it has become increasingly clear that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are on track to win this election. The call may not come today, and it may not come tomorrow, but we expect to win and win big.

There’s more good news, too: overall we aren’t seeing a massive push from the GOP to discount the results (you may have seen -- even Scott Walker said Trump can’t win Wisconsin!). Trump may be ranting and raving a bit on Twitter, but so far, they’re just empty threats. Because of that, at this time we are not activating a nationwide Protect the Results campaign today -- although as always, we will adjust if the news changes.

An important caveat, however: this victory was made possible by incredible local organizing this year. And local organizers know best what’s happening on the ground, so we are deferring to individual event hosts on their events proceeding or not. Some events will go on as planned today, but we will hold our national activation for now, unless Trump tries to fulfill his baseless promise to prevent states from counting every vote.

So what does that mean for you?

• First, you should check the Protect the Results map to see if your event is going forward. We’ve been in communication with individual hosts over the past few hours, so make sure to check back if you don’t see a note about what’s happening next.
  
  
• Then, make sure you keep an eye on your inbox. If you’ve RSVP’d to an event, the hosts will be messaging you soon with updates. And in the coming days, we’ll continue to email you from this address to let you know if our national plans have changed.

We know that it’s hard to be patient when nothing less than the fate of our country hangs in the balance. But we have to sit tight and let election officials do the crucial work of counting ballots. Keep an eye on your inbox. If the situation changes and mobilization is necessary, you will hear from us.

In the meantime, pour yourself a glass of water, chocolate milk, wine -- whatever -- because you made it through Election Day 2020.
