John,

Over the past 16 months, I’ve traveled across this incredible state, meeting with Mainers and hearing about the challenges they face and what better leadership looks like.

Those stories have inspired me and shown how we can bring people together and build a better future for this state and our country.

While we came up a little short, I know that Mainers and Americans are ready to continue to work together to make a difference.

A few minutes ago, I spoke with Senator Collins. I congratulated her on winning this election, and told her that I will always be available to help serve the people of Maine.

John, we fought hard in this race, and I am so proud of the grassroots campaign we’ve built together. Thank you for all of your support.

But our work is far from over. The challenges that we are facing as a state and country are some of the greatest that we’ve seen in our lifetime. While the election may be over, we cannot afford to stop organizing.

So let’s get some rest, reflect on the work we’ve done over the past 16 months, and then let’s get to work.
