Unprecedented rates of voting from home will likely mean that this count will take longer than it has in other elections.

John,

Before anything else, let me say thank you. Thank you to the volunteers who powered our campaign, and to the voters who cast their ballots yesterday and in the past few weeks. Thank you for being a part of this movement.

Even in the most challenging of times, this grassroots team adapted to help us mobilize while keeping people safe amid the coronavirus, and voters came out in historic numbers in this election.

Unprecedented rates of voting from home will likely mean that this count will take longer than it has in other elections.

Others have tried to sow doubt about our electoral process, and they still may keep trying to do that. But you displayed strong faith in our American system through your participation. We have to count the votes.

In the coming days, let’s remember that this is an election unlike any other that we’ve had in Pennsylvania in recent history — and if we don’t have definitive results today, that is okay.

I will keep you updated through every step of this process. My team is working tirelessly to make sure that every single vote is counted and that Northeastern Pennsylvania is heard. If you’re able, will you pitch in a donation to make sure our team has the resources to ensure all the votes are counted?

We ran a campaign that we can all be proud of, and I have a very good feeling that it’s going to pay off. In the meantime, thank you for being a part of this effort to move Northeastern Pennsylvania forward.

— Matt
