John, here’s where we are right now:
As of this morning, Biden and Harris are leading in Michigan and Wisconsin, with Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia all too close to call. Arizona has been called for Biden by some networks and the Associated Press, and while Nevada has not been called for Biden yet, he is poised to win the state when the counting is done.
So… what does that mean? As long as we hold our leads in MI, WI, AZ, and NV — and that looks likely — we win and Joe and Kamala head to the White House.
Don’t relax, but you CAN at least start breathing again while we wait for every vote to be counted.
The Senate is another matter. Our chances are less favorable, but not impossible.
We picked up CO and AZ with Hickenlooper and Kelly each winning, and we lost AL and ME with Doug Jones and Sara Gideon each coming up short. That’s a net gain of 1 seat so far.
We need to net two more.
Cunningham (NC), Ossoff (GA), and Gross (AK) are all too close to call.
We could win or lose them all. We just won’t know until all the votes are counted. Incumbent Democrat Gary Peters in MI is still too close to call as well. However, if Biden/Harris continues to expand their lead in MI, they’re likely to pull Peters over the top with them in the end. I’m willing to say I believe Peters will keep his seat.
All of that is my analysis of the state of the nation at 1pm eastern the day after, so just like the network pundits and pollsters, I could be dead wrong about all of it.
What’s next?
Here’s what we know for sure: Progressive champion Rev. Raphael Warnock will advance to a runoff in the Georgia Senate race against billionaire Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler.
This runoff could decide the Senate majority.
The runoff election is scheduled for January 5, which means Rev. Warnock has just over two months to sustain and grow a statewide campaign strong enough to win just days after the New Year’s holiday and with no national election to help drive the turnout.
It’s going to be a significant challenge to defeat a Trump-supporting Republican who dumped $20 million in stock after receiving private briefings about the danger of the coronavirus earlier this year and who’s willing to spend that fortune to buy reelection.
Rev. Warnock can do it, but not without us and a strong outpouring of grassroots support immediately to fund the campaign to win.
This race may be our last chance to flip the Senate. To win this runoff in January, we need to deliver resources to Rev. Warnock NOW. Will you rush a contribution between Rev. Warnock and DFA to kick off his runoff campaign strong?

Sen. Kelly Loeffler has a vast personal fortune she can draw on to attack Rev. Warnock, but even with all that money, she still came in second to Warnock last night.
Yesterday, second was enough to get Sen. Loeffler in the runoff, but in January she’ll need to place first to win.
It’s time to throw everything we’ve got — right now — to make sure Rev. Warnock defeats her and we send a progressive Black man to Congress in her place.
The fight for the Senate runs through Georgia and we won’t stop fighting until we win.
Let’s do this.
