Votes are still being counted, but one thing is clear: large numbers of people coming out to vote in New York State are supporting the progressive values that our movement has been working towards. This is a moment of celebration.
That is why we will not let anything get in the way to block this momentum. Votes are still being counted and the outcome is still in question. But we are not powerless. We are urging you to take action in-person or virtually with the Protect our Results coalition to ensure every vote and voice is heard.
We must keep fighting for a healthier, more equitable and more just future. It will not be easy, and there will be obstacles no matter the results. But we have seen in these elections that people are hungry for change, and are willing to fight for a progressive future. Counting every vote means ensuring that voice for change is heard.
This election season only solidifies ALIGN’s commitment to continue building a mass movement toward worker, climate, and racial justice. We depend on advocates like you to continue our work. Now it is time to hold our new leaders accountable, and continue the long marathon to create a just and sustainable New York.
