While we wait for all of the votes to be counted in the presidential election and other races around the state, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support.
Last night the results in my race were called very early around 9:00 pm, first by the Associated Press, and then other news outlets. I think this was possible in large measure because most of the voters in the district cast their votes through the early voting process at the Franklin County Board of Elections, either in person or through the paper ballot. So I’d like to start by saying thank you for your support and for voting early.
I am very pleased to have been re-elected by the voters in the 19th House District to be your voice at the Statehouse for another two years. It is an honor to serve, and you can rest assured that I will be working hard to represent you, to advocate for you and all Ohioans, and to work for a brighter future. As you may remember, I firmly believe that “Doing does it.”
There were many, many volunteers in the district, in Central Ohio, and indeed even beyond. You donated time, energy, and often treasure to support me. Thank you for the postcards and stamps, for making calls and sending texts, for dropping door hangers and post-it notes while wearing masks and gloves, and for all your efforts. Thanks especially to the over forty thousand people from across the district who voted for me. I am very proud of the race we ran.
A special thanks to all the members of my campaign team, led so well by my campaign manager, Liza Long, with an assist from Jacob Soles, a veteran of the 2018 campaign, and supported by the manager of our treasury, Josh Platt. We focused on the issues that matter most to the people of this district: education, health care, and jobs, and staying safe in a pandemic.
I could not have arrived at this point this without you, so thank you all from the depths of my heart. TOGETHER we can light the way to a brighter future for Ohio.
Your humble servant,
Mary
