I’m feeling confident. We organized the hell out of this election. With all of our phone banks, texting, postcards, and friend-to-friend outreach we reached over 3.5 million young voters. Poll after poll in this election cycle showed an unprecedented agreement that Americans want aggressive action on climate change. We pushed Biden to make climate a central component of his campaign, and it paid off—support from young voters skyrocketed. We have transformed the conversation on climate and helped encourage the largest voting turnout this country has ever seen. Americans from all corners of life, across race and zip code, showed up in record-breaking numbers to stand with and for each other. The people have spoken. We are on track to swear in leaders chosen by and for all of us. Trump can say what he wants—at the end of the day, power belongs to the people, and each one of the tens of millions of votes that officials are still hard at work counting moves us ever closer to the inevitable.
