John,
It’s not over yet! While the polls have closed, we’re demanding that every vote be counted. We hoped to have a decisive repudiation of this Administration's disastrous agenda by now, but we’re going to have to wait for more clarity about the results.
Right now, we don’t know how long it will be until the results are clear. It could be days or even weeks. But as we wait, we feel good about the trajectory of the results so far. But, Trump is already signaling to stop counting every vote; we’ll do everything we can to make sure that does not happen.
The best way to fight back against Trump’s scheme to attack our democracy is for people to speak out in massive numbers. That’s why we’ve joined allies, organizations and millions of people across the country to Protect the Results and make sure every vote is counted — and that election results are protected, people are heard and our democracy is intact.
One thing I can say for certain, regardless of the outcome: Our mission won’t change based on who’s in the White House or which party runs Congress.
We’re ready to move forward on the issues people like you care about most: our food, water and a livable climate. In fact, we’re already celebrating the victories of climate champions at the federal, state, and local levels. The election makes clear that this can only happen when we push to shift the real power in our democracy back to the people.
Together, we’ve made it through four long years of an administration that made it clear they cared nothing for our communities and the environment. And now we will fight for the integrity of the election and make sure every vote is counted — and we'll be ready for whatever comes next. No matter what, Food & Water Action will fight for you, our communities and our planet.
Find a Protect the Results event near you and help make sure every vote is counted and every voice is heard.
