John,
On behalf of everyone at When We All Vote, I want to personally thank you for supporting us in our mission to increase voter participation and close the race and age gap in voting.
To everyone who texted voters during our Couch Parties, marched to the polls with their Voting Squads, or made their voice heard at the ballot box, you have helped millions of Americans participate in our democracy (some for the very first time).
Despite the pandemic and deliberate barriers from long lines to attempts to eliminate ballot drop off locations, voters turned out in record numbers. And now our local election officials are doing their jobs, as they have in every previous election.
Now, I’ll be honest with you, with more people voting early and by mail, it’s going to take longer to verify the winners in this year’s elections -- and that’s okay. When we take the time to count every vote, we make sure that our democracy is working.
It’s the will of the voters that decides in our democracy. Local election administrators are working hard to count every vote -- just like they’re supposed to.
Waiting is hard, but democracy is worth waiting for. In our democracy, every eligible voter deserves to have their voice heard and their vote counted.
