The Emgage team canvassing on Election Day in Wayne County, Michigan
Every vote MUST count - it may come down to Michigan and Pennsylvania
With all eyes fixed on a few remaining states, it is becoming clear that Emgage’s strategic focus on turning out Muslim voters in Michigan and Pennsylvania could make the difference in these elections.
Throughout the historic Million Muslim Votes campaign, Emgage and partner organizations made over 1.8 million phone calls and sent over 3.6 million texts to get out the Muslim vote! In Michigan alone, our Emgage team made over 360,000 calls and sent over 1.4 million texts.
We specifically focused on Wayne County, home to a large number of Muslim voters in a state that was determined by less than 11,000 votes in 2016. With expected tight margins in Michigan and Pennsylvania, Muslim voters are poised to play an important role in determining the final outcome.

National Muslim Vote
According to the latest data released by 12 state electoral authorities and filtered by Emgage for likely Muslim voters, over 800,000 Muslim Americans have voted - that is a victory in itself! These states include Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, New York, Ohio, and North Carolina. These figures are projected to increase as data is received and analyzed from additional states.

Whatever the final results are, our community should be proud of this achievement. A big thank you to our Million Muslim Votes partners - Muslim Public Affairs Council, Illinois Muslim Civic Coalition, American Pakistan Foundation, Muslim Women For, Council on American Islamic Relations, Ismailis Rise Up, I-PAC Georgia, Poligon, My Muslim Vote and When We All Vote - and state chapters, including the staff and army of volunteers who tirelessly worked during these challenging times to engage as many voters as possible.
A big thank you also to those of you who have supported our work for years, but especially, this year. Our community owes you a debt of gratitude for helping change the culture of civic engagement among Muslim Americans. Please stay tuned for updated information on Michigan, Pennsylvania, and other states as more results come in.
