=============================

John -

I'm incredibly proud of our movement and the way we showed up to ensure that low-income communities, voters of color had the information they needed to access the ballot. I am proud of the thousands of democracy defenders who showed up yesterday to ensure that voters could cast their ballots safely.

The Partnership for Working Families network and its partners did amazing work educating and mobilizing voters while keeping everyone safe from COVID - that was a herculean effort, and we made it happen. And now it's time to turn up in the streets to ensure that we swear in the leaders we chose to govern in our name.

Like you, I'm ready to know the outcome of the elections and move forward. There is work to do to ensure that all our neighbors are housed and stopping evictions, ensure that healthcare and care work is funded, that we are all safe at work, and strengthening the voices of all workers, especially essential workers.

But the elections are not over. As we write this, over a million votes still need to be counted in my state, Pennsylvania, and tens of millions of votes are still being counted nationally. Election officials have been preparing for this contest for years, and independent election experts have validated the policies and procedures – including vote by mail and early voting – that were approved for this election, so let's make sure they can do their jobs unimpeded.

Here's what you can do now: join local actions across the country planned for today and November 7. We'll be sharing more updates on virtual and in-person actions as we learn about them, and visit www.counteveryvote.org [[link removed]] for up-to-date information.

Thank you for showing up for each other.

In unity,

Lauren Jacobs
