All we've done in 2020

John,

So many of us went into last night hoping against hope to see a swift repudiation of the Trump presidency and a flip of the U.S. Senate. That didn’t happen. Instead, we will wait and watch and demand that every remaining vote is counted.

We got good news out of Colorado last night as voters defeated Proposition 115, an attempt to ban abortion later in pregnancy. The significance of this win reverberates far beyond Colorado, as the state is a critical access point for later abortion care for people across the country.

During this election season, NIRH Action Fund invested in changing state legislatures, which have immense power to improve access or to create barriers to abortion care. We focused our work on state races in battleground states to shift their legislatures to support reproductive freedom, while driving voter turnout. In Arizona and Pennsylvania, NIRH Action Fund conducted polling to prove that support for abortion access was a winning issue across the political spectrum.

We worked in blue strongholds to create the strongest possible political will to create more safeguards for reproductive freedom. NIRH Action Fund worked in New Mexico to protect champions of reproductive freedom -- and we are thrilled to see that women of color now make up their entire House delegation. In New York, the NIRH Action Fund PAC endorsed a slate of progressive candidates at all levels of government.

Rest assured, we’ll be watching closely for the outcomes in state legislative races.

We are doing what no other organization is doing in states across the country: making sure that candidates and campaigns have the tools they need to run, win, and govern on a proactive reproductive rights, health, and justice platform.

As we await results and look forward to 2021, can you help us keep up this critical work?

Thank you for all that you do to protect reproductive freedom,

Andrea Miller
President
NIRH Action Fund
