Friend, Thank you to everyone who voted in yesterday’s election, and a big thanks to all who worked the polls or helped to get out the vote. We may not know the result of the election for a while. This makes sense since millions of people voted by mail or drop box during the pandemic. We can't allow anyone to cast doubt on the validity of the election or to short-circuit the counting of all votes. Please take action with Green America and our allies: demand that states count every vote. Our democracy relies on elections that are free and fair, and where all citizens are sure that their vote matters. Meanwhile, you and I need to keep advancing our powerful economic actions. Our 35 years of experience in fighting for our fragile planet and all its people tells us that no matter who is in office, in addition to political action, economic action is always crucial. We need to get the entire economy behind powerful climate solutions, protecting workers – ensuring safe workplaces, living wages, health insurance, childcare and affordable housing for all – and working for real racial justice. There are many ways forward. Together we will make it through these difficult times. For the future, |
