Trump’s Proud Boys and other militia groups have been waiting for post-Election Day chaos, warning there’ll be “Civil War” if things don’t look good for their side.
But “the president and his circle have paired these warnings with dire predictions of leftist and antifa street violence,” POLITICO reports, “an allegation that dramatically overstates the prevalence of such violence and inaccurately conflates lawful protesting with leftist violence.”
As a nation, we are hovering in a purgatory of unrest that’ll persist until the election is called. But if far-right groups take violent action in the meantime, there’s no reason to assume they’ll stop once the winner is decided -- especially if that winner is Joe Biden.
