Friend,
Yesterday was a victory for Delawareans across our state. We came together and voted to follow the science and to keep our most vulnerable citizens safe so that our children can go to school, and our businesses can get back on their feet.
Thank you for placing your trust in me to continue the job we started.
I, like so many of you, are praying that the American people also see victory at the national level. Joe was born for this moment. He believes in all of us more, I think, than we believe in ourselves sometimes. He has kept the faith throughout these long dark four years and despite his own personal tragedies. Somehow, as Joe so often has over the years, he picks himself up and stands ready to offer us his hand. He stands ready to pull this country out of the morass, out of the chaos, and onto higher, safer, more stable ground.
Some day soon, I hope to be able to turn our attention back to the priorities we all share. Improving our schools, especially those serving our most vulnerable students, attracting more good-paying jobs to our state and working with Mayor Purczycki to make our biggest city all it has the potential to be.
We can’t do any of those things unless we work together.
I want to thank all the poll workers who worked from before sunrise to when the polls closed, to make sure every Delawarean could vote and vote safely.
Most of all, I want to thank all of you. For placing your trust in me and for giving me the privilege to serve. The last eight months have been tough, but they would’ve been a lot harder without the support of all of you.
Thank you for being good friends and neighbors. Now let’s get back to work.
Sincerely,
John
