While votes are counted, we'll plan to push forward

Election Day itself is now over, but the votes from decisive
battleground states are still being tallied. Though we don't yet know
the exact political landscape we're heading into next year, one thing is
certain: CCL will continue to push for the national climate legislation
our world desperately needs.

"We've always said the solution to climate change is democracy, and
democracy is playing out right now as states count all their votes,"
said CCL's Executive Director Mark Reynolds. "No matter what happens,
I'm proud of everything our CCL community has done to encourage climate
voters to cast their ballots in this election."

We should know the final election results by the time of our Dec. 5th
conference, "United We Move." At that event, CCL's Director of
Government Affairs Dr. Danny Richter will be able to share key elements
of CCL's strategy to advance climate legislation in 2021. Will you join
us?

As emotions run high in the coming days, we invite you to keep in mind
Braver Angels' " With Malice Toward None

[link removed]

" pledge. It reads:

"Regardless of how the election turns out, I will not hold hate,
disdain, or ridicule for those who voted differently from me. Whether I
am pleased or upset about the outcome, I will seek to understand the
concerns and aspirations of those who voted differently and will look
for opportunities to work with people with whom I disagree."

We'll see you on Dec. 5 to plan out our next steps toward major climate
legislation. No matter what, we'll take those steps together.

Take action: Write to Congress now

Write Congress today as part of a special post-election action. We're
asking our representatives and senators to make solving climate change a
high priority during the last few weeks of this congressional session
and into the future. Use our online tool to personalize an example
message and send it to your legislators. Your messages will be
automatically logged in CCL's Action Tracker.
