This year's election is unprecedented. However, one thing remains: all votes need to be counted. Join us to say Count Every Vote TODAY at 3:00 PM at McPhearson Square.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many more people are voting by mail. Because mail-in ballots take longer to process, the results in several states are coming in more slowly than we’re used to. It may be days before we have the result — that’s normal. Voters were also presented with additional obstacles to having their voices heard: long lines, less voting locations, vote by mail requirements, and overall less access to voting. Despite unheard of challenges, millions of people voted and participated in our democracy this election.
We'll be out today at 3:00 PM in McPhearson Square with DC workers and pro-democracy organizations to ensure we Count Every Vote. Join us.
In solidarity,

The working people of Washington, DC and beyond demand that the voices of US voters be heard. We are essential. Throughout the pandemic, we have kept communities fed, cared for sick and dying patients, keep buses and trains running, educated children, and much much more. To do this we have risked illness, supplied our own protective equipment, created new communities of care, and shouldered many tough emotional moments. Those of us who have lost work have not received sufficient support and face great risks as the pandemic continues.
We will not be intimidated. There has been a growing culture of fear around this election. We will not allow that to deter us from being full participants in our democracy.
