Dear John,
Here we are, once again, on the verge of a catastrophic war with Iran.
Donald Trump tweeted last night that the U.S. is "locked and loaded" and awaiting a green light from Saudi Arabia to take military action in response to accusations that Iran was behind the recent assault on Saudi oil refineries.

Instead of going to Congress or the American public, Trump is asking Mohammad Bin Salman for a green light to start a war with Iran.
The Trump administration has been quick to blame Iran but has yet to provide credible evidence.
But we do know that U.S. military strikes against Iran could spiral into an all-out regional conflagration that would destroy the lives of Iranians and Americans alike for years to come.
We do know that we as Americans are at this crisis point because of the convergence of two self-inflicted disasters by our President: the decision to abandon the Iran deal for "maximum pressure"; and the decision to double-down on the war in Yemen.
And we do know that we must urge ALL sides to immediately deescalate and return to the negotiating table.
Unfortunately, the pressure for war is building. Already, one prominent Democratic Senator - Chris Coons - has suggested there will be support in Congress for Trump to take military action against Iran.
The political class must hear from us that we do not want a war and we will hold them accountable if they do not stop Trump from taking this disastrous step.
Please take a moment now to call and email your elected representatives to demand they stand up and stop a war with Iran.
