John,
We knew tonight's inconclusive results would be the case --
which is why we must make sure that every vote is counted no matter what Trump says.
Just a little while ago, Trump tweeted that they are “up big,” and that the Democrats are trying to “steal” this election, along with the claim that votes cannot be cast if the polls are closed. Twitter has already flagged this tweet as disputable and misleading information.
Donald Trump has persistently stated his disapproval of mail-in ballots, along with his continued refusal to commit to a peaceful transfer of power. He's made it clear that his personal agenda doesn't rest with the people’s voices, but with his own.
Every vote must be counted and respected -- and Donald Trump has made clear he has no intention of honoring the electoral process.
That's why we're preparing to mobilize if he undermines the results of the election.
We don't know what will unfold tonight or in the days or weeks to come, but we do need to be prepared to act.
We must be ready to mobilize millions of Americans through nonviolent protests if the need arises, and
we need you with us. Will you commit to action, John?

While we want to hope for the best, we simply cannot count on that, especially since there’s no telling just how far Trump is willing to go to cheat and bully his way through this election.
But the truth is, if our votes didn't matter, Trump and his followers wouldn't be trying so hard to undermine them.
Because so many of you brought our protest to the polls, voters showed up in record-breaking numbers -- and with the surplus of mail-in ballots, it's going to take some time to finish counting. That is our democracy working.
In love and solidarity,

P.S. We'll be in touch tomorrow with ways to keep yourself safe while you are out on the streets defending our democracy.
