Our race was just called — and I’m honored to share the news that the voters of New Mexico have elected me as their next U.S. Senator!

My name may have been the one on the ballot, but make no mistake: this was YOUR victory!

From the moment our campaign launched in April 2019, it has been a people-driven movement, powered by working folks who spent their evenings and weekends reaching out to voters about our vision for New Mexico’s bright future.

Since those early beginnings, our campaign’s core message has always been about the kitchen-table issues that matter to working families — from expanding affordable health care to creating good jobs and investing in New Mexico.

As the COVID-19 pandemic touched so many families, the urgent need for progress on these issues came into sharp focus. This election, voters from Taos to Las Cruces turned out in record numbers to create a clear mandate for change.

We have a lot of work in front of us to help our country recover and rebuild from this pandemic. Over the next few weeks, that will mean supporting strong candidates in races that were too close to call tonight, and protecting voting rights across the country.

But tonight, let’s celebrate — you’ve earned it!

I’m so proud of what we accomplished together, and I’m humbled to have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of great leaders like Tom Udall, Manuel Lujan, Jeff Bingaman, and Pete Domenici to deliver for New Mexico.

And most of all, I’m grateful to have earned your support.
