John,
The polls are wrapping up now and I regret to say that it's not what we hoped. We're behind a considerable amount, and it's unlikely we'll be able to close the gap so I'll be conceding the election shortly.
With that said, I'm so damn proud of what we've done here. Going against Donald Trump's right-hand man in Congress was never going to be easy, and the deck was stacked against us from the outset -- but that never stopped you.
You contributed so much of your time, your hard-earned money, and energy to this movement and for that, I'm eternally grateful.
I love this district and our democracy. I've spent my life fighting to protect it from threats foreign and domestic, and after this year, it's never been clearer to me that I'm not alone in that fight.
We raised over $2 million to oust one of the most controversial incumbents in the nation -- more money than every Democratic candidate for Florida's 1st in the last 20 years, combined. And nearly 150,000 Floridians voted to restore honor and integrity to Congress.
So while I'm sad things didn't shake out as we'd hoped, you won't catch me pouting. I've never been so proud of our neighbors and folks like you for fighting the good fight.
So, thank you, John.
I'll leave you with this: never stop fighting for truth, for honor, for integrity, and our democratic values.
Stay safe and thanks for everything,
Phil Ehr
