Team, we fought our hardest, all the way to the end. But ultimately, this race isn’t going to go our way.

I just called Mitch McConnell to concede, and to express my sincere hope that he’ll do better by the people of Kentucky.

The truth is, we knew from the start that we were underdogs in this race. But together, we built a campaign unlike any Kentucky has ever seen and got closer to a victory than anyone thought possible. We shattered organizing and grassroots donor records. And we forced Mitch’s special interest allies to swoop in to rescue him in the final days.

That effort matters, team. Because even though we will come up short tonight, our campaign forced Mitch to take his eye off the ball and shift attention and resources to his own race—and that was never in the game plan. We’ll see how it plays out, but if Mitch McConnell loses his Senate majority after tonight, don’t let anyone tell you that you didn’t have a hand in that.

It’s inspiring to see the massive turnout here in Kentucky and across the country. Change is coming to the Washington that Mitch McConnell built, whether he’s ready for it or not.

I know tonight’s result may not be the one any of us had hoped for, but I’m so proud of what we achieved together. And I hope you are, too. Hold your heads high tonight—this fight was worth it.

I'll have more to say later, but tonight, I need you to know how much your support means to me. Campaigns are tough. But people like you helped make sure I never lost sight of the mission. And I’ll never forget that.

Thank you, for everything.
Amy
