,
It’s not too late! Although polls will begin to close in some states within the next few hours, we want to remind you that as long as you’re in line by closing time, you are still allowed to cast your ballot. If you’re still waiting in line to vote when the polls close, please do not leave! Your vote matters, and as long as you stay in line, you cannot be denied the opportunity to vote.
Already voted? That’s great – thank you for participating in this incredibly important election. Now think, is there anyone else you know who could still use some encouragement to make it to the polls today? Friends, family, neighbors, other contacts of yours? We encourage you to make one last effort to reach out to the people you know and get out the vote! The stakes, as we’re sure you already know, couldn’t be higher.
One more reminder: We want to hear about your voting experience – the good and the bad. You can share your voting experience with us by sharing your photos on social media (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) and tagging us at @splcenter and/or using the hashtags #WeVote and #WhyIVote, emailing your photos to us at [email protected], or submitting them through our website.
We know this election night is likely to be an uncertain and anxious moment for so many of you – and we are right there with you, in solidarity. Make sure to check your inbox later for an update from SPLC President Margaret Huang on our commitment to making sure every vote counts.
Sincerely,
Your friends at the SPLC
