Friends,

Election Day is one of my favorite days.

In the words of my dear friend, the late Representative John Lewis: “The right to vote is precious, almost sacred. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool or instrument in a democratic society. We must use it.”

We know that in our district -- Alabama’s 7th Congressional District -- people have fought, marched, and died for the right to vote. In their honor, we are continuing the work by making our voices heard and ensuring that everyone we know exercises their right to vote in this historic election.

This election cycle has been filled with uncertainty: from an unhinged President to an unprecedented pandemic to Republicans boldly attempting to suppress the vote.

But through it all, Democrats have voted in HISTORIC numbers to ensure that we restore decency in the White House by electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

It’s an honor to represent you all in Congress and be in this fight with you -- but we aren’t out of the woods yet. Today, we’re giving it EVERYTHING we’ve got to make sure that people’s voices are heard and we make this an UNMISTAKABLE win for Democrats!
