** URGENT: Covid crisis has hit the cause for animal freedom hard.

Animals need you – PLEASE take action.
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear John,

I need to be completely honest and direct with you, from one animal activist to another. I am hoping you will understand the situation we are in and the risk it poses to animals.

I need to ask for your help to make sure the fight for animal freedom can go on. Because as things look right now, as we are about to enter another lockdown, our campaigns for animals won’t make it through the rest of the year.

And because of that, the animals that we fight for everyday will suffer as our campaigns for their freedom will have to drastically change, or even end all together.

Animals in run-down zoos like Borth Wild Animal Kingdom, animals exploited in the name of entertainment in mobile zoos and festive events, animals in circuses… their future is in jeopardy.

By sending an urgent donation today of £10, £20 or even an incredibly kind £50 we can overcome this unprecedented struggle and keep on fighting for animal freedom. But we must act fast. ([link removed])

7 months into lockdown restrictions we still find ourselves in a really difficult situation, and our campaigns for animals are in jeopardy.

The lockdown doesn’t change reality for animals who are suffering in captivity in zoos. They are still being held against their will in conditions that make them suffer.

Animals in circuses may not be forced out on the road right now to entertain crowds, but they are living in restricted spaces, being trained in preparation for their next ‘show’.

And that is why we must keep fighting. We are doing all we can at this time to expose these cruel industries and speak out for the animals they exploit. But to make sure these campaigns keep going, I urgently need your help.

The lockdown has put crucial funding on hold, with funding from grants being redirected and events around the country cancelled. Funds absolutely crucial for the campaigns we are fighting on a daily basis for animals.

This leaves us in a dire situation with thousands of pounds of funding missing to give animals the life-saving help they need.

John by making a donation of around £10 or more, you can help us plug this gap and make sure animals in zoos, aquariums, mobile zoos, the pet trade and other cruel industries, have a lifeline to freedom.

I know it is possible to turn things around! We are taking all the steps we can to save our campaigns. We have cut down on expenses wherever we can, without impacting the campaigns that we MUST deliver for suffering animals. But in all honesty we can’t keep that up for much longer without your urgent help.

Since March we have been able to keep up the fight against Borth Wild Animal Kingdom, the zoo in Wales where animals have died in tragic circumstances, including Lillith the lynx who was shot dead after escaping the zoo. In a fantastic victory for animals, the zoo has now been banned from keeping big cats captive and the cats have been rehomed. ([link removed])

** But there are many more animals still languishing at this horror zoo. Cosmo is one of them.
------------------------------------------------------------

Cosmo is a wolfdog who lives in an enclosure so small, that he has no chance to live a natural life. Our investigator discovered him repetitively circling the edge of his cage, over and over again. Denied the chance to fulfil some of his most basic natural instincts, he now suffers from zoochosis, a distressing mental health condition.

We can’t give up the fight now. We can’t simply stop campaigning for the freedom of Cosmo and the other animals in urgent need. That is why I need your help today.
Please donate £10, £20 or even £50 as soon as you can. ([link removed])

We are doing all we can but the impact of lockdown has been so severe, that without your intervention we likely won’t be able to carry on our campaigns in the same way. We may even have to shut down altogether.

Please believe we do not want that to happen. And with your help we can make sure it doesn't.

I am available by phone or by email to talk to you if you want to know more or share your worries, so please do reach out. We all need to support each other through this difficult time.

Thank you again for always being there for us and the animals.

For the animals,

Sam Threadgill
Director

P.S. Covid-19 has hit our charity hard. Our financial situation is urgent and our campaigns for animals are in jeopardy.

But with your help, we have a chance to turn this around and keep on fighting for animals for as long as they need us. ([link removed])

Please help protect these vital campaigns for animals, by sending your urgent donation of £10, £20 or even an extra special gift of £50, ASAP. Thank you so much. ([link removed])
