While we don’t know the outcome of the election tonight, we do know that we need to be prepared. If Trump tries to steal the election, we need mass protests, mass walk-outs, and mass strikes in order to stop him. We demand that every vote be counted, but we can’t count on the Democrats or the liberal establishment to fight for this—it’s up to us to flood the streets, shut our workplaces down, and force Trump to concede.
We’re preparing to flood the streets and call for mass strike action. Join DSA, 350-Seattle, Black Action Coalition, Morning March, Indivisible, and others at the Count Every Vote protest at Occidental Square at 5PM tomorrow, November 4th. Bring your friends, your family, and your coworkers. Come prepared and mask up: 350-Seattle Protest Safety Video. If necessary, we'll be at Occidental Square at 5PM everyday.
After the protest at Occidental Square tomorrow, we’ll march to Westlake Park along with EDM (Every Day March), Nikkita Oliver, Morning March, Engage, and Black Action Coalition for a Don’t Let Trump Steal the Election protest.
As events unfold quickly, check your email for more consistent updates from us this week.
Of course, whether Biden or Trump is in office, we keep fighting. What does fighting for Medicare for All, defunding the police, a Green New Deal, and a socialist transformation of society look like in a new period, whether a neoliberal Biden presidency or a Trump second-term? Join us next Tuesday, November 10th from 7 - 9PM at our monthly General Membership Meeting to discuss the election outcome, what’s next for the socialist movement, and how to organize under changed conditions. Find out more here.
WATCH THE ELECTION RESULTS WITH US
Join your comrades from DSA chapters throughout Washington for a statewide DSA election night watch party! The event will run from 7 - 10PM, so feel free to drop in whenever you can to laugh, cry, and opine as we watch election results roll in.
We will connect around local and national results, and any implications for our movement. We'll also discuss immediate local and statewide responses if Trump attempts to declare victory prematurely, as well as how to continue the fight for a socialist future regardless of the outcome. Plus, it will be a great chance to build community with comrades from across the state!
All are welcome. Please RSVP here.
GET YOUR BALLOTS IN!
Haven’t voted yet? You still have time! Drop off your ballot at a ballot box by 8PM tonight. You can find a list of ballot boxes here. You can also still register to vote until 8PM today at any in-person voting center.
Filling out your ballot? Vote Sherae for State in the 43rd District! It’s time to kick establishment Democrat Frank Chopp out of the Washington State House and elect grassroots, People’s Party candidate Sherae Lascelles to fight for the working class in Olympia. Read our endorsement statement here.
In solidarity,
Seattle DSA
