Team, no matter what happens tonight one thing will always be true:

No one — absolutely no one — fought harder to hold Donald Trump and his enablers accountable for their complete and utter failure to lead our military and country than this team did.

When Trump tried to use our veterans, troops, military weapons and machinery as political props in a vanity parade to live out his tough guy dictator fantasies...

When he attacked Purple Heart recipient John McCain, claiming he "preferred war heroes who weren't captured"...

When he attacked Gold Star Families like Khizr and Ghazala Khan by name...

When he fired top-ranking military officials, like Lt. Col (Ret.) Alexander Vindman and former Navy Captain Brett Crozier, for daring to stand up to him, honoring the oaths they took when they put on their uniform...

When he refused to condemn or act to hold Russia to account for taking out bounties on the heads of our actively deployed troops abroad...

When he called fallen troops suckers and losers...

We were there.

We were there: running ads online, on TV, on local and radio sharing our stories, speaking on our experiences, garnering millions of views, connecting veterans and military families to undecided voters in swing states when it mattered most, making calls, sending texts, fundraising and organizing for veterans running for office.

We were there — building a grassroots movement. And we were there doing it with, and because, of you.

The next time we talk we’ll likely have some idea of what comes next for our movement and country. We’ll know if we’ll be getting ready to double down and fight harder than ever for our shared values or shift our efforts to making sure that veterans and military families have access to affordable health care, an economy that works for the many not the few, public lands and waters to pass down to our children, and a brighter future for all.

The only thing left to say is this: we’re damn proud of everything we did to get this far, and we hope you are, too.
