Dear John,
Today marks the 59th US quadrennial election.
In these turbulent times, we remind ourselves that this system of the people, by the people, for the people can only work if the people exercise their right to vote. We must show up to make our voices heard through every channel at our disposal. One of the most important channels is elections. Vote.
Make no mistake, this is the election of our lifetimes. The courts, congress, and our very Democracy are on the ballot. MPAC, is working hard in D.C. to rally support for the policies that reflect our values, but one thing is clear. Our officials respond to votes, It’s that simple. Let us, together, demonstrate the power and value of a community that understands the impact of their voice, their vote.
To help ease the process for those unfamiliar, we have the following resource to help you vote:

+ Find your polling place
+ Find the laws that govern your state for elections
+ Read our report about the differences between both candidates regarding policies that are important to American Muslims
* MPAC has produced a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) video series below that highlights the importance of a single vote during this election, and how powerful the Muslim vote can be when elections are close.
* If you experience voter intimidation or suppression, you can speak with lawyers in your area by calling (866) OUR-VOTE, or visit 866ourvote.org to ensure that your vote is cast, and safely. The website contains links and phone numbers for those who speak a language other than English.

Those who are seeking to divide us know that our unity is our strength. Our diverse communities represent the America we hope to build and so we urge for unity amongst all, regardless of partisan preference. This was the example afforded us by the Prophet Muhammed (P.B.U.H.), who was sent down to us as Makārim al-Akhlāq - the Noble Character. He recognized that our friends and neighbors were also our brothers and sisters. We need each other for the struggle to build an America of which we can all be proud.
Our vote is our voice, and so let’s speak up today and continue in our efforts to build an America fit for our future generations.
Salam Al-Marayati

The Power of 1%

In 2004, sitting President George Bush nearly lost re-election due to his massively unpopular War on Terror. The difference was one percent of Ohio voters. In 2020, our own percent can be the difference between a Trump coronation or a Biden reversal.

Each election sets in motion a cascade of pivotal events. But 2 out of the last 3 elections were decided by one percent of the vote in crucial states. Such is the power of one percent -- our one percent.
