On Election Day, I have questions.
Do you think these politicians out there stirring up animosity between
Americans really, personally care about you and your family? Do you
think the mainstream media or the people who pull all the strings behind
the power in DC really care about you? Would they physically fight for
you or put themselves at risk for you?
You know what the real revolution is on this Election Day? It's unity.
It's finding common ground and refusing to play violent games who only
benefit those watching from the sidelines.
I'm absolutely not saying we shouldn't defend ourselves - we should, and
vigorously. But we can refuse to be part of the problem. We can refuse
to fan the flames. We don't have to get online and gloat and threaten
and behave in unbecoming ways.
I know I'm just a middle-aged peace-loving libertarian hippie chick, but
I believe in the people of the United States and our good hearts.
I wrote this essay about how we can do better this election.

It probably won't be as widely spread as if I'd written something gloomy
and terrifying, but I believe that all of our quiet voices calling for
peace are important. Maybe share it with your friends if you, like me,
want to see peace.
Let's talk about common ground and our similarities. Not about
politicians. How can we help keep Election Day peaceful in our necks of
the woods? Let's discuss it in the comments.
