Gas Boom

What to Know: U.S. natural gas reserves are approximately 20 percent higher than previously thought, a new report says.

The TPPF Take: The news just keeps getting better.

“Our growing dominance in the energy industry is great news for Americans and for our partners in liberty around the world,” said TPPF’s Katie Tahuahua. “Advances in technology mean we are increasing our reserves much faster than we are depleting them. This means we have the power to lift billions from poverty and to export American-made natural gas—and freedom—worldwide.”

It’s Not Working

What to Know: The number of insured Americans is dropping, signaling the failure of the Affordable Care Act.

The TPPF Take: Obamacare is failing because it caused insurance rates and deductibles to skyrocket.

“The cost of health care has risen every time government involvement increases and layers of bureaucracy are added,” says TPPF’s David Balat. “Medicare-for-All isn’t the answer—it would just mean much more bureaucracy, more costs, and far less care. We need fewer barriers between doctors and patients, not more.”

Fighting Back

What to Know: Two Michigan brothers are suing the township of Canton for harassment, following their dispute over the township’s tree ordinance.

The TPPF Take: The harassment is in clear retaliation for the brothers filing a lawsuit against the township.

“The First Amendment protects the Percys who file constitutional claims against the government,” says TPPF’s Chance Weldon. “The government cannot seek to punish plaintiffs for simply exercising their rights.”
