Friend — Election Day is here! If you still need to vote, don't wait — for information on how and where to vote
go to vote411.org.
This Election Day is four years in the making — the future of climate action, dismantling systemic racism, and ending the COVID-19 crisis are all on the ballot this year.
There have been many lies about and outright threats to our democracy by Trump and his allies. An extraordinary, historic number of voters cast their ballots early in 2020 — more than 90 million so far. It will take time for states to get through those counts. So we might not know the outcomes tonight, but that's OK — it means the system is ensuring a complete, accurate count.
Trump has already announced over the weekend that he will declare victory early — even if he hasn't reached the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. Here's what's important to remember: Donald Trump doesn't have the power to decide if he wins. It is the voters who decide who wins or loses.
We know that Trump is trying to incite chaos into the election. That's why the League of Conservation Voters is monitoring the election night situation closely. Together we are ready to make sure that every vote gets counted — because that is how our democracy works.
Voters are ready to move forward and confront the climate crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. And at the end of the day, the next president will be who voters have chosen. Thank you for standing with us these past four years. We are almost there.
And again, visit vote411.org for voting information and resources.
We've got this.
