National Center for Transgender Equality

We have a lot to be proud of today. No matter the outcome, the
American public made their voices heard and came out in record numbers
to choose their leaders. That's the core of our democracy, and
by exercising our right to vote, we made it clear what is important to
us, our families, our communities.
It may be awhile before we know the final outcome, and that's okay.
High turn-out and a surge in voting by mail means our elections
departments may need more time to tabulate results. It's
important that we count every vote.
Trans people have faced so many challenges, and regardless of the
results today, we will face more. But, we have never backed down from
a fight, and we never will. We will continue to speak up, demand
equality, and fight for justice. We will put in the hard work, make
change, and support our trans family through the good and bad.
On behalf of the entire NCTE team, I want to say thank you for the
work you all have done this year through one of the toughest elections
ever. Thank you for supporting our efforts to make voting more
accessible for all trans people from coast to coast. Thank you for
doing your part to cast your own vote. And, most importantly, thank
you for making sure your friends, family, and community got out and
voted.
Tomorrow, the next chapter begins. We're ready for it, join us.
Sincerely,
