Today may be Election Day, but our work is far from over. We have a lot of work left to do to make sure the maps for the next decade of elections are fairly drawn!

While we don't know what the results of this year's elections will be, no matter who wins the White House and control of Congress, redistricting is set to begin next year. And we have to make sure that Republicans aren't able to lock themselves into unearned majorities for another ten years.

Republicans may have caught us off guard in 2010, when they swept down ballot races and used their new state legislative majorities to gerrymander the maps -- but we won't get caught off guard this time.

Regardless of the outcome in this election, we've already made enormous progress since the NDRC launched in 2017. But we need to keep up the work and put the pressure on state governments to draw FAIR maps when redistricting begins next year!
