Dear NRDC Activist,

It's here — the last day to vote in the most important election of our lifetimes.

It's the last day to cast your ballot for the promise of a better, healthier, more hopeful future that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will deliver. And it's the last day to vote against the division, lies, and climate denial of Donald Trump.

We can't afford to have anyone sit this election out. If you haven't voted yet, please make your plan now and get to the polls as soon as you can today.

Check your registration and look up your polling place and hours of operation before you go, as it may not be where you voted last time. Don't forget to bring your mask, hand sanitizer, and your ID. And be prepared to stand in line for as long as you need to make sure your vote is counted.

If you have already voted — thank you! Maybe you can give someone who may not have voted yet the push they need to make their voice heard.

This moment will shape our lives for decades to come and determine what kind of world the next generation inherits. It will determine how we confront the urgent challenge of the climate crisis, and how quickly we can move toward the clean energy future we so desperately need. It will determine how our nation responds to a long-overdue reckoning with centuries of racial injustice, and what the next steps will be in our response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The stakes could not be higher.

I know this is not news to you. Many of you have been working diligently with us for months, volunteering to text voters in battleground states, calling your friends and family, and making your mark on this election. Each and every voter we get to the polls is a victory, and I want to send my personal THANK YOU for doing your part.

I hope you will also join me in remaining patient and vigilant as we await the results, as there's a good chance we won't know tonight who our next president will be. In fact, we may not have an answer tomorrow or even days or weeks from now, as states take the time they need to count every vote. But it is critical that we let the democratic process play out while remaining on high alert for any attempts by Donald Trump to undermine the election, which we know is an unfortunate possibility.

We will not rest until every vote has been counted, every voice has been heard. And no matter who wins the presidency — or which side controls Congress — the NRDC Action Fund and our sister organization, NRDC, will not stop fighting for our environment, our climate, our democracy, and a better, safer, more just future for all of us.
