John -- Look at everything we've accomplished with this people-powered movement that's fighting for a more equitable DC.
Look at the momentum we've built together:
- Our campaign team and tenacious volunteers left it all out on the field, and reached out to as many DC voters as we could: with 60,000 doors knocked, 20,000 phones called, and 200,000 texts sent.
- We earned the endorsements of five current or former DC Councilmembers, the most in the race, as well as organized labor and the Washington Post.
- This isn't just a people-powered movement in principle, but also in practice: With over 2,400 donations made for $425,000 -- I'm floored how many folks have chipped in to support our fight.
I wish I could reach out today to thank each and every person who's become a part of Team Goodwin with a phone call, a text message, or a fist bump. You got us here -- to election day in a year that was anything BUT normal.
You were with us when we launched this campaign in January. You were with us when the pandemic hit DC in March. You were with us when we took to the streets to protest racial inequality and injustice. You were with us when we gathered 10,000+ signatures to remove the Emancipation Memorial.
This is it. Today is the last day to cast your ballot in the 2020 election. This is the last day to use your voice and speak up.
If you haven't voted yet, check out your many potential polling places at the DC Board of Elections Website, and make a plan to vote today.
If you're looking to help other folks cast their ballots, you can sign up to volunteer with Team Goodwin today right here.
Whatever happens, thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign for a more equitable DC. Win or lose today, that fight doesn't stop when we wake up tomorrow on November 4th.
We'll be here. We're in this for the long haul.
Thank you for everything,
- Marcus
