Today is Election Day, and across Maine polling places are opening right now! It’s no exaggeration to say that the future of our democracy is on the line. Here in Maine, we have a saying: As Maine goes, so goes the nation.

Here in Maine, we have the tightest Senate race in the country. If we want to remove Mitch McConnell from his position of power as Senate Majority Leader, that means we need to defeat Susan Collins and flip the Senate.

Maine’s 2nd Congressional District went to Donald Trump by 10 points in 2016. We flipped that House seat in 2018, but we need to protect that seat and our majority in the House. In 2018, we also expanded our majority in the State House and flipped the State Senate -- and those majorities are on the line.

If we want to defeat Donald Trump, we cannot take even a single electoral vote for granted. We need to deliver all four of Maine’s electoral votes to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and that means we must ensure Democratic voters turn out and VOTE!

All this depends on you, and what you will do today. It’s not enough to just vote, we need to make sure that every eligible Maine voter is able to cast their ballot and have it counted.
