John,

Happy Election Day from your friends at Maine Conservation Voters!

If you haven't yet voted and plan to go to the polls today, we wanted to share some important info that you'll need before you head out.

1.If you have an absentee ballot, DO NOT MAIL IT. Bring it to your town clerk's office or a drop box location in your town.

2. Find your polling place here.

3.Call or text the ACLU of Maine's Voter Protection Hotline if you or someone you know encounter an issue while voting. The number for the hotline is 207-204-VOTE (8683). The TTY line is 207-204-8684. Voters can also email [email protected].

We also wanted to offer some advice about the anticipated results, because there may be some misinformation floating around your social media feeds tomorrow and in the coming days.

We may not know the results of some of the elections here in Maine or at the federal level — which is absolutely normal, despite the claims otherwise. We anticipate a long night tonight, and we must be prepared for an even longer period of time before we get all of the election results.

Every vote matters, and every vote must be counted to ensure our democracy continues to work for everyone. Patience will be a virtue, as will fortitude.

We’re in this together and remember, we’ll never stop fighting with you.

Thank you for your commitment and dedication to a brighter future for Maine and thank you for being a conservation voter!
