September 16, 2019: New York City residents consumed 77.4 metric tons of cannabis in 2018. That’s more than any other city in the world.[1]

The ABCD Cannabis Price Index also reported that Washington, D.C., is the most expensive place to purchase weed in the United States. A gram costs an average of $18.08 in D.C. compared to $10.76 in New York.

However, it is more expensive to buy pot in 10 cities worldwide than it is in our nation’s capital.[2]

Footnote

2. The ABCD Cannabis Price Index looked at 120 cities throughout the world. Of those 120 cities, 13 are in the United States.
