Friend --
Tomorrow’s the big day, so I want to take a moment share some final reflections with you on my race:
No matter what happens, I want to express how proud I am of the team we assembled, the campaign we ran, and all the work that we accomplished.
But most of all, I’m writing this evening to thank you.
I wouldn’t be here without your help. Your support has been critical in getting our message out to more voters, and I truly can’t say thank you enough.
When I first explored running for this seat and expressed my doubts to my husband, he listened (patiently) and told me this is exactly what I was meant to do.
A younger Candace -- raised by a single mom, without a home and moving from place to place -- would have never imagined I’d one day mount a real deal campaign for Congress in our community.
But here I am, and now that I’m a mother of two young boys of my own, I’m putting it all on the line to fight for policies like a public health option, paid family leave, higher wages.
With your support, I’m going to be the advocate that so many Texans need.
Thanks for all you’ve done, and if you’re able, please chip in one last time to help see us across the finish line. >> [link removed]
You’ll hear from us after the polls close!
