John,
Churches and religious charities are being pressured - sometimes even forced - to disregard their faith in hiring situations.
TODAY we're standing up for the right of faith-based organizations to hire like-minded people, and not have their beliefs trampled.
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has proposed a new pro-religious liberty rule to protect churches and religious charities from being forced to hire outside their faith.
This means if an atheist applies for a position at your church, your church would not be forced by law to hire them.
I can't stress enough how crucial it is for faith-based organizations to be able to hire individuals of like beliefs and protect their mission from being undermined. That sacred right must be protected.
We're filing legal comments today in support of the new rule to defend the hiring practices of religious organizations.
We will fight to safeguard the right of churches and faith-based organizations to hire employees who share their faith, but we can't win without you.
