[1]Women's March
This is it, John.
In less than 24 hours, it’ll be Election Day.
We’ve been waiting and preparing for this day for the past four years.
Millions of women ignited the movement to resist Trump when we took to the
streets the day after his inauguration — and we believe that women will
show up again with that same energy tomorrow to vote in a new
administration.
It’s time to finish the job: we must demand that our leaders count every
vote, deliver our democracy, and swear in a government of, by, and for the
people.
So tomorrow we’re inviting you and everyone in this movement to join us
for one final Election Day action. When the polls close, we’re planning a
nationwide symbolic action to #ShineALight on democracy and demand that
our leaders #CountEveryVote in this election.
[ [link removed] ]John, will you
sign up right now if you’re interested in joining us? All you need is
yourself, your family, and friends — and some type of strong illumination
(a lantern or a flashlight).
Here are the steps if you plan on participating in our #ShineALight action
tomorrow:
1. [ [link removed] ]Sign up now to let us know you’ll be joining the action.
2. Decide where you will shine your light — your backyard, front porch,
or in your window, or on your street.
3. Pick a time based on when the polls officially close in your location.
4. If others are joining you, send them a reminder text to bring a
lantern or a flashlight, and a mask!
5. Share your symbolic action with us by tweeting a photo @womensmarch
and with the hashtags #ShineALight and #CountEveryVote.
6. After you sign up, we’ll email you posters to print out, too.

We know that this election night will be unlike any other before.
We’re seeing a much higher early voting turnout, as well as increased
mail-in and absentee ballots, meaning that it might take longer to count
every vote.
We also know that the GOP will take advantage of any chance they get
tomorrow to fake their strength in this election. Any politician can say
whatever they want to, but it’s the will of the voters that decides.
By participating in this action, you’ll be showing your determination and
your demand that every vote be counted. Lights shining out from windows,
porches, front lawns, and everyday households across the country will
illuminate the truth: we the people are turning out in record numbers, and
we must decide the outcome of this election.
[ [link removed] ]Will you join us and millions of other Women’s Marchers as we show our
solidarity tomorrow in this symbolic action?
Let’s finish strong,
WM Organizing Team (Kate, Jess, Jalissa & Cindi)
P.S. If you missed our Grounding Ourselves virtual gathering last night
with our Board Chair, Rinku Sen, and other long-time feminists, [ [link removed] ]please
watch and share the recording here.
