Hey John,

Do you ever think about what you might tell your past self -- the self from before November 8th, 2016 -- if you had the chance? Do you know what you'd say?

I sure do.

I would tell the old Christy that these four years have been harder than we imagined they possibly could be. That this country is broken. That people are suffering. That the answer to "what do you have to lose" ended up being 231,000 American lives and counting.

And I would tell her to do more to stop that future -- the future we lived -- from happening, because I had regrets last time. I had woulda, coulda, shouldas. I woke up on November 9th and realized that there was more I could have done: more campaigns I could have donated to, more phone banks I could have joined, more doors I could have knocked. And I bet a lot of you felt that way, too.

It's a big reason why I ran for Congress this year.

We have the opportunity to hold the House, take back the Senate, and kick that man out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Or we can look forward to another four years of regret.

John, let's never feel regret after an election again.
