Hi Friend,

Although tomorrow is Election Day, the election has been underway for
weeks—and the record-breaking early voting and absentee voting numbers
indicate that it will take some time for us to know the results.* What we
do know is that there are thousands of important races taking place across
the country beyond the presidential that will impact millions of lives.

Flippable joined the Swing Left family in 2019 to bolster our work in the
states. Thanks to the Flippable and Swing Left community, we’re heading
into Election Day having invested millions of dollars toward building up
pro-democracy, Democratic power in 10 states. [ What's ]That’s a lot of states,
so we’ve written a blog post explaining what’s at stake in each one.

In North Carolina and Pennsylvania, flipping both chambers of the state
legislatures would establish unified Democratic control—a game changer for
fair maps and the passage of progressive policies. Chamber flips in the
Sun Belt states of Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and Texas would spell the
end of GOP trifectas and would enable Democrats to meaningfully
participate in redistricting and rein in conservative policy-making.

Preventing GOP supermajorities in Ohio and Wisconsin will give Democrats a
say in Ohio’s redistricting process and will protect Wisconsin Governor
Tony Evers’s veto, respectively. Flipping the Michigan State House will
provide Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer with much-needed support in
the legislature, and flipping the Iowa State House would break a GOP
trifecta and give Democrats input over how maps are drawn next year.

[ What's ]Read our blog for a more detailed look at what flips would mean in each
of the 10 states we targeted this year. And bookmark [ Election ]Swing Left's
results page, which, starting tomorrow, will track results in 157 state
legislative races as well as results in the presidential and key Senate
races.

As always, thank you for working with us to build better government—and a
stronger democracy for all—from the ground up.
