Dear AdvOCAtes,

Millions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have already voted, and we are already seeing historic AAPI turnout in many battleground states. No matter what happens this week, our communities are standing up and making a difference—but we still have one final push left to ensure that all of our voices are heard.

OCA has prepared several resources and messaging guides to help you exercize your fundamental right to vote.
Toolkits + Voter Registration
OCA has released 20 state voter toolkits, which are meant to serve as guides to navigate voter ID information and voting during COVID-19. They contain resources from your Secretaries of State, Departments of State, or Election Boards in addition to information from other voting nonprofit organizations.
  • Haven't registered to vote yet? Many states offer same-day voter registration. Click here for more.
OCA x Lyft: Ride to Vote!
Need a ride to the polls or want to drop of your ballot? We've partnered with Lyft to make voting easier! Use the code OCAVOTE for a free or discounted trip (up to $25) through November 3.
Voter Protection Information

Under the Voting Rights Act, every eligible citizen has the right to vote without feeling bothered, threatened or intimidated. But this year, many AAPI voters are concerned about their safety at the polls—with many citing fears of armed militias, police and federal agents, and COVID-19.
  • OCA has prepared a list of resources if you encounter voter intimidation.
  • Know the facts: There are multiple federal and state laws in place to protect you, and several options to report election crimes.
Hotlines are available in multiple languages if you encounter any problems while voting.
  • 888-API-VOTE (multiple Asian languages/English) – administered by APIAVote & Asian Americans Advancing Justice-AAJC
  • 866-OUR-VOTE (English) – administered by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law
  • 888-Ve-Y-Vota (Spanish/English) – administered  by the NALEO Educational Fund
  • 844-Yalla-US (Arabic/English) – administered by the Arab American Institute
If you, your family members, someone you know, or community members have experienced xenophobia, discrimination, or harassment (in light of COVID-19), please report the incident using our hate crime reporting tool at aapihatecrimes.org.
